Health Screening

   
   The center provides comprehensive health screening programs, designed to suit each individual’s need, according to their age, gender, lifestyle and work-related health risks. Pre-Screening Preparation 
1. Pre-Examination
  • Get enough sleep and do not consume any form of alcohol and caffeinated drinks on the night before the test, as alcohol and coffee may affect the blood pressure readings.
  • Should wear clothing that allow easy access to the upper arms for blood extraction
  • If scheduled for an exercise stress test, patients should wear comfortable cloths and footwear.
  • For females, gynecology test should be avoided 7 days before or after menstruation period.
2. NPO Fasting
  • For fasting blood sugar, patients should not eat or drink for at least 6 hours prior the test. For cholesterol, triglyceride, HDL and LDL, patients should not eat or drink for at least 12 hours. Water can be taken on small amount to avoid dehydration.
  • Immediately after blood extraction, patients can drink and eat normally, except patients who still have upper abdominal ultrasound.
3. Post Blood Extraction
  • Apply pressure on the site where the blood was drawn for at least 5-10 minutes.
  • If bruising appears on the extraction site, apply Hirudoid ointment for 1-2 weeks to quickly reduce bruising but should avoid massaging the area.
4. Urine Collection
  • Mid stream catch by using the urine bottle, catch the middle portion of the urine.
  • For females with menstruation should not have urine analysis. If unavoidable, please inform the staff.
5. Chest X-Ray
  • Remove all jewelry and metal accessories and jewelry.
  • For females, avoid wearing underwire bra
  • Suspicion of pregnancy, please inform the staff to cancel the X-Ray
6. Abdomen Ultrasound
  • Patients should not eat or drink for at least 6 hours before the ultrasound. If feeling dehydrated, patients can occasionally sip water.
  • Patients might be required to drink several glasses of water and avoid urinating prior the examination time.
7. Mammogram
  • Mammogram should be avoided during menstruation period (7 days before or after menstruation)
  • Avoid using deodorants, antiperspirants, powders, lotions, creams or perfumes underarms or breast on the examination day.
